Full engagement

AML Application Audit

Our flagship engagement — a full financial audit of how anti-money laundering applications operate across onboarding, monitoring, escalation, and board reporting.

Who it is for

Compliance officers, CFOs, and board risk committees who need an independent view of whether anti-money laundering applications — the policies, procedures, and day-to-day decisions — actually restrain illicit finance risk in the business they run.

Result you receive

A structured audit report that ties each material finding to sampled financial evidence: customer files, alert dispositions, SAR drafts, and management information. Remediation items are ranked by regulatory consequence and by exposure on the statement of financial position where relevant.

Scope included

  • Mapping of products, corridors, and customer segments to AML control owners
  • Sample-based testing of onboarding, ongoing due diligence, and exit decisions
  • Review of transaction monitoring alert handling and escalation quality
  • Assessment of suspicious activity reporting narratives against underlying ledger activity
  • Evaluation of MI packs presented to senior management and the board
  • Closing workshop with ranked remediation and suggested owners

Scope excluded

  • Design or rebuild of monitoring rulesets as a software project
  • Legal opinions on specific transactions
  • Guaranteed regulatory outcomes or examiner liaison on your behalf
  • Continuous outsourced compliance staffing after the engagement ends

How the audit runs

  1. Scoping call — confirm licences, products, geographies, and recent supervisory feedback.
  2. Information request — policies, risk assessments, sample populations, and access protocols.
  3. Fieldwork — file sampling, staff interviews, and walkthroughs of exception handling.
  4. Draft findings — factual clearance with control owners before the report hardens.
  5. Final report & workshop — board-ready document plus a working session on priorities.

Preparation we ask of you

Nominate a single engagement lead, confirm sample access within five business days of kickoff, and identify any parallel audits so we avoid colliding with the same case files.

Constraints

Work is confidential under our engagement letter. We do not publish client names without written consent. Multi-entity groups with separate licences are priced as coordinated scopes, not automatic volume discounts.

Next step

Request a scoping call and share your product map, last examination themes, and preferred fieldwork window.
