Client stories

Specific feedback from compliance, finance, and operations leaders who commissioned our AML application audits.

Voices from recent engagements

“They caught that our high-risk onboarding path skipped beneficial-ownership refresh when ownership stakes shifted mid-year — a gap our prior internal review never sampled.”

— Compliance lead, Bangkok payment institution

“The report was dense in places, and we needed an extra workshop to assign owners, but the transaction samples left little room for debate with the board.”

— CFO, regional remittance group

“During the monitoring sample audit they reconstructed three cleared alerts where the customer’s cash-in pattern contradicted the stated business purpose. We reopened two of those cases the same week.”

— Monitoring manager, licensed money transfer operator

“I appreciated that they refused to expand into rewriting our entire policy set mid-engagement. The walkthrough stayed focused on examination readiness, which is what we hired them for.”

— Head of legal & compliance, boutique securities firm

Extended story: remittance corridor remediation

A multi-branch remittance house asked Mind Layer Grid for a full AML Application Audit after supervisory feedback on corridor risk. Fieldwork covered onboarding for walk-in senders, agent supervision records, and a stratified sample of monitoring alerts on a high-volume route.

Findings centred on inconsistent source-of-funds narratives at agent locations and delayed escalation when customers structured just under reporting thresholds. The final workshop assigned owners in operations and second line for a twelve-week remediation plan. Management later used the sample workbook in board discussions without commissioning a second firm to “translate” the findings.

Extended story: pre-licence variation walkthrough

Ahead of a product expansion into corporate wallets, a payment company booked our Regulatory Readiness Walkthrough. Over six working days we stress-tested how beneficial ownership would be collected for layered shareholding, and how monitoring thresholds would inherit retail calibrations. The readiness brief listed eight documentary gaps; five were closed before the variation pack was filed.
